SQR Cleaning Services - Environmental Policy

SQR Cleaning Services recognises its responsibilities as a service organisation and concerns itself with both the long and short term effects of its business in relation to the environment. Whilst we welcome the introduction of legal measures, we appreciate that real progress can only be made though the actions of individuals and organisations on environmental issues.

SQR Cleaning Services place great emphasis on caring for the environment. The object of this Policy is to provide the framework around the provision of our services ensuring as a business we can promote an environmentally responsible approach to the provision of our cleaning services whereby a safe and healthy working environment can be developed.

As an employer we recognise that the nature of our business has potential to impact detrimentally on the environment, particularly where we use cleaning materials. Use of such materials is under our direct control, and it is our policy therefore to minimise the use of harmful products and to use environmentally friendly products and procedures wherever possible.

It is our policy to liaise and co-operate with our clients to ensure that any of the cleaning services provided are assessed for environmental impact. We will apply best practices wherever possible, and will take leadership in developing greener services and product supplies.

We will evaluate all aspects of our business to ensure that we constantly provide the best service to our customers whilst reducing the impacts of doing so on the environment. We are committed to non-harm in the environment and are open to processes or practices that might actually have a positive environmental effect.

We will take steps, so far as is reasonably practicable, to meet our environmental responsibilities, paying particular attention to:

• Use of environmentally friendly equipment and where possible biodegradable products.
• Safe arrangements for the use, handling and storage and transportation of equipment and materials, which might have an environmental impact.
• Communicating our policy clearly to our staff, customers, suppliers and stakeholders whilst encouraging employees to bring environmental issues to the attention of management and/or colleagues.
• Ensure that we apply precautionary principle when determining environmental and hygiene impacts of our products and services.
• Revise and review our processes and practices to incorporate any environmentally beneficial technology or materials.
• Observe and comply with legislation relating to environmental issues.

SQR Cleaning Services will ensure continuous improvement by providing training and raising awareness among employees, customers, suppliers and stakeholders.

All employees will be required to comply with this policy. Non-compliance with this policy will be considered a disciplinary issue.
